Ingredients

  • 1pounddried great Northern beans, soaked overnight

  • ½poundcooked ham, chopped

  • ½cupbrown sugar

  • 1tablespoononion powder

  • 1tablespoondried parsley

  • ½teaspoongarlic salt

  • ½teaspoonblack pepper

  • ¼teaspooncayenne pepper

  • 8cupswater, or as needed

Cooking Directions

  1. Combine beans, ham, brown sugar, onion powder, parsley, garlic salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper in a slow cooker. Pour enough water into the slow cooker to cover the mixture by about 2 inches. Cover and cook on Low, stirring occasionally, for 12 hours.
