¼cupwhite wine vinegar

3dasheshot pepper sauce (such as Frank’s® RedHot), or more to taste

1poundbacon

12cupsfresh broccoli florets, or more to taste

3cupsfruit and nut trail mix

½largered onion, diced into 1/4-inch pieces
Cooking Directions

Mix together mayonnaise, sugar, vinegar, and hot sauce in a medium bowl until smooth. Set aside to allow sugar to dissolve into dressing.

Meanwhile, cook bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Drain bacon slices on paper towels and let cool enough to handle, about 10 minutes. Crumble.

Combine crumbled bacon, broccoli, trail mix, and red onion in a large serving bowl. Add dressing and toss thoroughly.
Tips
You should use about 4 large heads of broccoli for this salad. You can freeze the stalks to use in soups and stocks.
You can use whatever combination of dried fruit and nuts you like instead of trail mix.
