Ingredients

  • 1(29 ounce) cansliced peaches

  • ¼cupwhite sugar

  • 2teaspoonsground cinnamon (Optional)

  • 1(9 ounce) packageyellow cake mix

  • 4teaspoonsmargarine

Cooking Directions

  1. Discard 1/2 of the juice from canned peaches and pour peaches with remaining juice into a large saucepan. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Cover with cake mix in an even layer. Place margarine on top in the center.

  2. Cover the saucepan with a lid and bring to a simmer over medium-high heat. Once you see steam escaping the saucepan, reduce heat to medium-low, and continue cooking for 10 minutes; do not lift the lid during this time. Remove from heat and allow to stand with the lid on for 15 minutes.

The cooked cake mix should look like dumplings.
