Ingredients

  • ½cupoil for frying, or as needed

  • 1(4 ounce) packetsaltine crackers, finely crushed

  • ½teaspoonground black pepper

  • ¼teaspoonground cayenne pepper

  • ¼teaspoonpaprika

  • ¼teaspoongarlic powder

  • 2eggs, beaten

  • 4largerazor clams, cleaned and dried

Cooking Directions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  2. Mix crushed crackers in a bowl with black pepper, cayenne pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Place eggs in a separate bowl. Dip clams into eggs, then into cracker mixture to evenly coat.

  3. Fry clams in the hot oil until golden brown. Do not overcook.
