Ingredients

  • 3 ½cupswater

  • 1dashsalt

  • 1cupsteel-cut oats

  • ½cupmilk

  • ½cupcashews

  • ¼cupsweetened dried cranberries (such as Ocean Spray® Craisins®)

  • 2tablespoonsflaked coconut

  • 1teaspoonvanilla extract

  • 1teaspoonground cinnamon

  • 1pinchwhite sugar, or to taste (Optional)

Cooking Directions

  1. Bring water and salt to a boil in a saucepan. Stir oats into boiling water; cook oats until thick and soft, 20 to 30 minutes.

  2. Stir milk, cashews, cranberries, coconut, vanilla extract, and cinnamon into cooked oats; continue cooking, stirring frequently, for 10 minutes more.

  3. Sprinkle sugar over oats to serve.
