Ingredients

  • 1poundItalian sausage

  • 2onions, chopped

  • 1cupchopped celery

  • 1cupchopped carrots

  • 6cupschicken broth

  • 1(28 ounce) canwhole peeled tomatoes with juice

  • 1 ½cupsshredded cabbage

  • 2teaspoonsdried basil

  • 2cupsbow tie pasta

  • ½teaspoongarlic salt

Cooking Directions

  1. Cook and stir sausage in a soup pot over medium heat until crumbly and no longer pink.

  2. Add onions, celery, and carrots. Cook, stirring occasionally, until onions are soft, about 5 minutes.

  3. Add broth, tomatoes, cabbage, and basil; bring to a boil. Stir in pasta; cover and simmer until pasta is tender, about 10 minutes. Season with garlic salt.
