2tablespoonschopped onion, or more to taste

¾cupquick-cooking oats, or as needed

2tablespoonscanola oil, or to taste

salt and ground black pepper to taste
Cooking Directions

Mix salmon, egg, and onion in a bowl with your hands until well combined. Mix in oats, a little at a time, until mixture holds together and is not overly moist. Shape into four patties.

Heat oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat until butter is melted and mixture is hot. Add patties and fry until golden brown on the outside and heated through, about 7 minutes per side.
