Ingredients

  • 4cupspeeled and sliced potatoes

  • 2cupsdiced ham

  • ½onion, chopped

  • 2cupsmilk

  • 1cupfrozen peas

  • 3tablespoonsall-purpose flour

  • 2tablespoonsbutter

  • 1teaspoondried parsley

  • ½teaspoonsalt

  • ½teaspoonground black pepper

  • teaspoongarlic powder

  • teaspoononion powder

  • ¼poundCheddar cheese, diced

  • 1pinchpaprika, or to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. Gather all ingredients.

  2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

  3. Layer 1/2 of the potatoes, 1/2 of the ham, and 1/2 of the onions in a 2-quart baking dish; repeat layers.

  4. Cook milk, peas, flour, butter, parsley, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened, 7 to 10 minutes.

  5. Stir Cheddar cheese into sauce until melted.

  6. Pour sauce over potato and ham mixture; sprinkle with paprika. Cover with aluminum foil.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven until potatoes are tender, about 1 hour. Remove foil and continue baking until lightly browned, about 15 minutes more.
