Ingredients

  • 1poundlean ground turkey

  • 1cupchopped onion, or more to taste

  • 1mediumgreen bell pepper, seeded and chopped

  • 3clovesgarlic, or more to taste, minced

  • 1(15.5 ounce) candark red kidney beans, rinsed and drained

  • 1(15.5 ounce) canblack beans, rinsed and drained

  • 1(15 ounce) canwhole kernel corn, drained

  • 1(15 ounce) cantomato sauce

  • 1(8 ounce) cantomato sauce

  • 1(14.5 ounce) candiced tomatoes, undrained

  • ¼cupwater

  • 2tablespoonschili powder

  • 1teaspoonsalt, or to taste

  • 1dashhot pepper sauce, or to taste (Optional)

Cooking Directions

  1. Heat a large nonstick pot over medium-high heat. Cook and stir ground turkey and onion in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 8 to 10 minutes. Drain and discard grease. Add bell pepper and garlic; cook for 1 to 2 minutes.

  2. Stir in kidney beans, black beans, corn, both cans of tomato sauce, diced tomatoes with juice, water, chili powder, salt, and hot pepper sauce; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 20 to 30 minutes.

Cook’s Note:

Ground beef can be used in place of ground turkey, if preferred.
