Ingredients

  • 1 ¼cupswhite sugar

  • ½cupbutter

  • 2largeeggs, beaten

  • 1teaspoonbaking soda

  • ¼cupsour cream

  • 1cupmashed bananas

  • 1 ½cupscake flour

  • 1teaspoonvanilla extract

Cooking Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9-inch square pan.

  2. Cream butter and sugar together in a large bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Dissolve soda in sour cream and add it to butter mixture; beat well. Mix in mashed bananas; add cake flour and mix until just incorporated. Stir in vanilla extract. Pour batter into the prepared pan.

  3. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 45 minutes.

Tips

You can use all-purpose flour instead of cake flour in a pinch. If you prefer a less sweet cake, try reducing the sugar to 1 cup.
