Ingredients

  • 3cupscooked rice

  • ½cupraisins

  • 2 ½cupsmilk

  • ½cuphoney

  • 2tablespoonsbutter

  • 1teaspoongrated lemon rind

  • 1tablespoonlemon juice

  • teaspoonground cinnamon (Optional)

Cooking Directions

  1. Combine rice, raisins, milk, honey, and butter in a saucepan. Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat, and let it simmer for 15 minutes; occasionally stirring. Stir in lemon rind and juice.

  2. Serve rice in bowls; garnish with cinnamon and slivered almonds if desired.
