Ingredients

  • 1poundextra-lean ground beef

  • 1smallonion, finely chopped

  • 1tablespoonpepper

  • 2teaspoonssalt

  • 1(28 ounce) candiced tomatoes

  • 1(15 ounce) cantomato sauce

  • 1(6 ounce) cantomato paste

  • 2clovesgarlic, minced

  • 4teaspoonsdried thyme

  • 2teaspoonsdried basil leaves

  • 2teaspoonsdried rosemary

  • 1teaspoondried marjoram

  • 1teaspooncrushed bay leaf

Cooking Directions

  1. Heat a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir ground beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess fat.

  2. Add onion to beef in the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until onion is soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Season with pepper and salt. Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, and garlic; bring to a boil.
