Irresistible Garlic Croutons

These garlicky croutons are easy to make with either vegetable or olive oil, garlic powder, and dried basil. I eat Caesar salads just for these croutons! Store extras in an airtight container in your pantry for up to a week or in the freezer for up to a month.

Ingredients

  • 1(1 pound) loafday-old French bread, cut into 1/2 inch cubes

  • ½cupvegetable oil

  • 2tablespoonsgarlic powder

  • 2tablespoonsdried basil

Cooking Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone liner.

  2. Place bread into a bowl; drizzle with oil and sprinkle with garlic powder and basil. Mix with your hands until bread is well coated and seasonings are evenly distributed. Pour onto the prepared baking sheet and spread into a single layer.

  3. Bake in the preheated oven, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned and toasted, 6 to 10 minutes.

Tips

You can use olive oil instead of vegetable oil if desired.
