Ingredients

  • 1cupwhite sugar

  • 1cupwater

  • ½cupchopped fresh ginger

  • ¼cupfreshly squeezed lime juice

  • 1 ½cupssparkling apple cider

  • 1cupvodka (such as Tito’s®)

  • 1mediumlime, cut into 4 wedges

  • 4cupsice, or as needed

Cooking Directions

  1. Combine sugar, water, and ginger in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a simmer, and stir constantly until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and strain into a pitcher; discard solids. Let cool completely, 30 to 45 minutes.

  2. Pour 1/4 cup cooled ginger syrup into a separate pitcher; reserve remaining ginger syrup for a later use. Stir in lime juice, sparkling cider, and vodka. Pour into 4 ice-filled glasses and garnish with lime wedges.

Cook’s Note:

The syrup can be made up to 2 weeks ahead. Add cider just before serving to preserve the effervescence. You can also have the ingredients available and can make this recipe in single servings, rather than in a batch.
