The Ultimate Margarita Recipe – On The Rocks!

These Sprite margaritas are the best I’ve ever tasted — they look, smell, and taste more “pure” than any others I’ve had. A successful and upscale Mexican cantina nearby makes them. I always assumed they were using all top-shelf ingredients until I found out their secret: lemon-lime soda! Now I’m able to recreate them at home.

Ingredients

  • 1pinchkosher salt for rimming glasses

  • ice cubes

  • ½cupsilver tequila

  • ¼cupsweetened lime juice (such as Rose’s®)

  • ¼cuptriple sec

  • ¼cuplemon-lime soda, or to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. Rim 2 margarita glasses with salt, if desired, and fill with ice. Pour tequila, sweetened lime juice, triple sec, and lemon-lime soda into a shaker filled with ice, hold your hand firmly over the top of the shaker so it doesn’t pop off from the carbonated soda. Shake vigorously. Pour into prepared margarita glasses, and serve.
