Ingredients

  • ½cupbutter

  • 1poundlinguica sausage, cut into cubes

  • 1green bell pepper, chopped

  • 1red bell pepper, chopped

  • 1teaspoonground black pepper

  • 1teaspoondried basil

  • ½teaspoondried oregano

  • 1(15.5 ounce) canprepared shelled beans

  • 2 ½cupswater

  • 2cupsuncooked white rice

Cooking Directions

  1. Melt butter in a large, heavy pot over medium-high heat; add linguica, onion, bell peppers, black pepper, basil, and oregano. Sauté until vegetables are very tender, 10 to 15 minutes.
